Willis Edward Hecht, 94, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away May 22, 2024.

He was born on Nov. 12, 1929, in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of Russell and Elsie Hecht (Savage). Willis was one of 13 children. On Aug. 17, 1947, he married his "sweetsie pie," Juanita Hecht (Diveley).

Willis enjoyed hunting, fishing, USAC sprint and midget racing. In his free time, he also enjoyed spending time at Nyona Lake. Willis especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved the companionship he had with his two dogs, Rex and Ivy.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Juanita Hecht of Kokomo, Indiana; son, Bill Hecht (Judy); daughter, Belinda Hecht both of Kokomo, Indiana; grandchildren, Brian Hecht (Carol), Dawn Haynes (Joe), Terry Chapel (Sharon), Amy Chapel; great-grandchildren, Brittany King, Heather White, Caitlin Haynes, Hannah Chapel, Joey Haynes, Olivia Gates, Jacob Haynes, Brandon Gates, Brailey Hecht, Sanna Carden; great-great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Preston, Carter and Asher White, Mia and Millie Harris; and a special nephew, Kenny Hecht.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Brad Hecht, whom he loved dearly.

Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Ellers Mortuary. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Ellers Mortuary, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo, IN 46901.
