Thomas Gerald Underwood, 56, West Palm Beach, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010.. Tom was born and raised in Kokomo where he attended school until graduation from Kokomo High School in 1972. Upon graduation, Tom embarked on a fabulous 11-year professional baseball career. The last 20 years, Tom worked as a senior financial advisor.. Tom was loved by so many for the way he could light up a room and evoke constant laughter and happiness. He was a loving father, husband, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by his children and family.. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Christine, and their children Danielle, 22; and John Dominick, 18. He also leaves behind three siblings, Mark Underwood and wife Janis, Kokomo; Nancy Wooldridge and husband Bruce, Cicero; and Pat Underwood and wife Debbie, Kokomo.. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Marie Underwood.. A memorial Mass is noon Saturday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S. 200 West (South Dixon Road), followed by a celebration of life from 1 to 4 p.m. on the lower terrace level. Friends are welcome to attend both.. Memorial contributions may be made in Tom's name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, www.firstgiving.org/tomunderwood.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
