Robert Eugene 'Clutch' Clingaman
Robert Eugene "Clutch" Clingaman, 85, of Tipton, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at his residence.
He was born on June 10, 1934, in Wabash, Indiana, to Clarence Everett and Ethel (Utter) Clingaman. He married Velva A. (Rutherford) Clingaman, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 2018.
Clutch served in the United States Army during the Korean War, was a member of the Moose, the Eagles, and the American Legion, and retired from Chrysler Corp. as a pipe fitter.
He is survived by his children, Mike (Rita) Clingaman, of Peru, Danny Ray Clingaman, of Elwood, Connie (Kenny) Guffey, of Tipton, and Robert W. (Connie) Clingaman, of Windfall. Also surviving are six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Jim Clingaman and Jerry Clingaman; sister, Janice Brown; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St., Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, with Pastor Logan Westrick officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru. Military service will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
