Galveston - Phyllis "Rose" Engle, 94, of Galveston, passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side, Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo.

She was born July 9, 1930, in Elwood, Indiana, to Cluard H. and Bonnie B. (McClelland) Purvis. She married the love of her life, Russell Engle, on July 2, 1950, they shared over 74 years of marriage together.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston, with Pastor Terry Russell officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
