Philip Ray Taskey, 60, Kokomo, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018. Philip was born July 4, 1958, to the late Harold Taskey and Barbara (Atkins) Taskey. He married Paula A. (Young) Taskey May 5, 1984.

Phil graduated from Kokomo High School and attended Herron School of Art & Design. He worked for Ambassador Steel for 18 years and Chrysler for nearly 10 years. Phil enjoyed hunting deer and fishing. He was a member of Kokomo's fishing club, the Bass Angler's for years. Phil was a talented artist. He etched, engraved, carved wood, burned, and used different inks. He enjoyed being a grandfather to his granddaughter, Ryelle, playing pretend and going to all the parks. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Surviving Phil are his wife, Paula; son, Mitchell; daughter, Shana; brothers, Mike and Sam (Joni); sisters, Sally Reed and Sandy Pickett; granddaughter, Ryelle Hindman; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Roger Taskey; and granddaughter, Shyanna McClain.

A celebration for Philip will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Chapel, with Pastor Greg Reed officiating. Visiting hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will follow the service, processing to Albright Cemetery.
