Pauline Shirley Guyer Obituary

Pauline "Shirley" Guyer, 91, of Kokomo, went to be with Jesus at 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at Waterford Place Health Campus. Born March 24, 1927, in Herman, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late William Swantner and Lurah Long. On Oct. 19, 1947, in Chili, Indiana, she married Charles Guyer. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2013.

She was a homemaker and a Sunday school teacher for most of her life. Her life was a testimony of love and giving to others. She exemplified this through the tireless efforts of benevolent community service, along with many outreach mission trips to Haiti.

Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia and husband Chuck Roberts, Sandra Beals, Rosemary Guyer; one son, Charles Guyer Jr. and wife Sue. There are also 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. There are also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one great-granddaughter, Ellie Page; one son-in-law, Dennis Beals; three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at Grace Community Four Square Church, 2020 S. Goyer Road, Kokomo. Pastor Mike Rush will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
