Paul David Newport
Paul David Newport, age 67, passed away at his home in Kokomo on Nov. 5, 2019. Paul was born on Jan. 4, 1952, in Kokomo to Marjorie (Norris) Newport and the late Paul V. Newport.
After graduating from Western High School, Paul earned his journeyman electrician license, and then worked as an electrician at the Chrysler plant in Kokomo for over 30 years, retiring in 2003. In February of 1981, Paul was married to Denise Newport. They later divorced, and she has preceded him in passing.
Paul had belonged to Kokomo Christian Heritage Church. He was an avid motorcycle rider, and enjoyed taking extended road trips on his Harley. He also enjoyed many side jobs, which included carpentry, glass etching, and being a tinkerer (he could fix anything!). When he wasn't working, Paul kept himself occupied by doing crossword puzzles, and finding ways to make others laugh.
In addition to his mother, Marjorie Newport, Paul is survived by his daughters, Amanda Newport and Lindsay (Spiro) Papagiannis; brother, Steve Newport; and grandson, Branden Newport.
There are no services planned for Paul at this time. Paul's family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Kokomo Humane Society to celebrate his reuniting with his dog of over 15 years, Elvis.

Worked with Paul for several years at Chrysler and was good friends with him and his wife Denise, and enjoyed their children Amanda & Lindsay when visiting with our children. We send our condolences to both of you girls and Paul's many friends.

Amanda, my sincere sympathy to you and your family. Very sorry to know you have lost your Father. Paul said, To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Take comfort knowing there is a promise of everlasting life. Peace and love.
