Patricia J. Platt
Former Kokomo resident Patricia (Beane) Platt, 83, passed away in Lake Worth, Florida, on Sept. 9 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her beloved husband William "Spike" Platt in 2013, we take comfort in the fact that she is now together again with the love of her life.
Patty was a valued employee of Delco, retiring in 1993 to spend winters in Florida with her daughters, Kim (Steven) Scott and Lisa (Joseph) Palma, and to help raise her adored granddaughter, Nicole. During these initial years, she continued to spend her summers between Kokomo and Lake Shafer, enjoying her retirement and making lifelong friends at Big Monon Camp. Much to Bill's pleasure/chagrin, she even became an avid golfer! She was beautiful, inside and out, and will be sorely missed by all, as we can't imagine life without her.
Predeceased by brother Roger (Donna) Beane, Patty is survived by brothers Tom, Jim and Chris Beane, their wives Becky, Grace and Lisa, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family both near and far.
Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of life memorial service Sunday, Sept. 29, at the American Legion Clubhouse, 2604 S. Lafountain St., in Kokomo, from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite animal rescue and/or local charity.
