Norma Jean Walters
Norma Jean Walters, 88, Marion, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, at 7:15 p.m. at Ascension St. Vincent in Kokomo. She was born to the late Norman and Margaret (Jones) Welch on Aug. 16, 1931, in Peru, Indiana. Norma married Thomas Walters on May 14, 1960, in Ashville, North Carolina, and he survives.
Norma was a beautician and the owner and operator of the Village Beauty Shop in Sweetser. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and interior design, but her family always came first. She was very artistic. Norma was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Marion.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Thomas; two daughters, Lesa (Larry) Nelson and Elizabeth (George) Walker; four grandchildren, Alexandra (Justin) Harris, Grant Nelson, Claire Walker, and Harrison Walker; two brothers, Konnie Welch and David (Sue) Welch; nephew, Mike (Heather) Welch; and niece, Christy Heavilon.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Norma's family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
