Matthew Wyatt Obituary
Sevierville, TN - Matthew Webb Wyatt, age 46 years young, entered Heaven on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in their beautiful mountain home located in Sevierville, Tennessee.
Matt and his wife, Mary Kate, together own Tree Top and Valley Events, a consulting business focused on building wedding venues in The Great Smoky Mountains. He was also a proud member of Pathways Church, enjoyed card collecting, and most of all loved spending time with his precious children and family.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Charles and Madonna Cash Boone, Bob and Carol Conner Barger and Ray Wyatt, who were his top row bleacher fan club at almost all his sporting events. He was also greeted in heaven with what we can only imagine was a big hug and a warm welcome from his friend and father-in-law, Phil Thatcher.
Matt is survived by his wife and best friend Mary Kate Thatcher Wyatt; and his pride and joy - his two beloved sons Phillip Thatcher Wyatt (age 10) and Charles Boone Wyatt (age 7); as well as his parents, Mike and Charlee Boone Wyatt; sisters, Ashlee (Matt) McNabb and Whitney (Vytas) Dailide; along with his mother-in-law, Sara Thatcher; brothers-in-law Joe (Kate) Thatcher, Pete (Christi) Thatcher, and sister-in-law Anne Thatcher. He was also known as the "fun uncle" to his nieces and nephews including Easton and Mattox McNabb, Mikas and Lilija Dailide, Jack and Brennan Thatcher, Charlotte Thatcher, Jordan Thatcher, Clayton Cannon, and JR Cannon - ALL great kids!
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Matt's doctors and care team, UT hospice, and the countless family and friends who have prayed over us and supported us every step of the way. We would like to thank Pathways Church and especially Pastor Keith Thornton, who was our shining light and guided our entire family through this heart-breaking experience.
Matt was a devoted husband, loving father, an adored son, loyal brother, friend to many, and most of all a child of God. The strength, courage and faith he showed during his battle with cancer was an inspiration to many. After his diagnosis in September 2025, Matt bravely put on his shield of armor for battle with positivity and grace, he never once complained and fought valiantly until his very last breath. And for that, we are forever and eternally grateful.
As we close our eyes, we can only imagine God's beautiful voice welcoming him home into Heaven by saying "Well done my good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
In closing, we wish to share Matt's favorite Bible verse that deeply inspired him through this challenging journey to never lose faith and hope.
"I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven and Earth." Psalm 121:1-2
