Edwardsville, Illinois - Mary Christine "Christi" Dannels, nee Sullivan, passed away peacefully at home with her family on May 15th, 2025 after an extended illness.

Christi was born on July 12,1966, in Kokomo, Indiana to her father William Sullivan and her late mother Georgeann Patchett. She Graduated from Northwestern High School in 1984, after which she enrolled at Southern Illinois University Carbondale where she received a BS in Education. As she was beginning her career as a teacher, she met Charles "Chuck" Dannels and they were married on July 27, 1991, in Savanna Illinois.

After teaching for four years, Christi chose to leave education so that she could raise her children at home in Edwardsville, IL where she and Chuck had settled.

Besides Chuck, Christi is survived by her three children, Nathan (Chloe) Dannels, Ryan (Sarah) Dannels, and Megan (Stone) Hunter. Her beloved grandchildren, Memphis, Carolina, Jersey, Georgia, Brayden and Kleis. She is also survived by her father Bill, stepmother Pat, sister Ann and brother Kirk and her Aunt Brenda.

Christi was a wonderful person who was witty, funny and clever and who wanted nothing more than to be the best mother and wife to her family.

There will be a celebration of life for Christi on June 14, 2025, at 1:00 pm. This event will be held at Olive Tree Family Church, 410 E. Garfield Street in Mt. Olive, Illinois.
