Marvin G. Kemp Sr.
Marvin G. Kemp Sr., 86, Kokomo, formerly of Greentown, passed away at 8:25 a.m. Thursday in Waterford Place, Kokomo. He was born Sept. 27, 1933, in Vallonia, Indiana, to Herman and Carrie (Hattabaugh) Kemp.
He served in the United States Navy. He married Janet Sue (Hunsinger) Kemp on April 3, 1954, and she survives. He retired from Chrysler as a tool and die maker.
He was a member of American Legion Post 317 and Local UAW 685. He enjoyed his Chrysler retiree dinners and his art. Marvin enjoyed music, singing, watching his children and grandchildren in their sports and watching cowboy movies.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Marvin (Gayle) Kemp Jr., Jeff Kemp, Pete (Kim) Kemp and Shelly Whitehead; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Kemp; and sister, Phyllis Edington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don Kemp; and sister, Janette Bryant.
There will be a private family gathering at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown, with military rites by the American Legion Post 317.
