Peru, Indiana - Kim DeLano Burton, 67, of Peru, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025.

Kim was born in Kokomo, Indiana, on Sept. 4, 1958, to Franklin and Sue (Polston) Burton. He attended and graduated from Northwestern High School, going on to attend Purdue University, majoring in Industrial Management, and minoring in Industrial Engineering. He retired from Miami Cass REMC, working as the Director of Member Services.

Kim was a beloved, dedicated member of his community and he supported many causes. He served the Indiana Youth Bowling for 20+ years, as well as the Indiana Masters & Queens Tournament as a Co-Tournament Director, Conference Director for Indiana High School Bowling, Maconaquah Girl's Bowling Teams and the Saturday Youth League. He was involved in youth programs through the REMC, 4-H Electric Program/Sponsoring and Judging, the Indiana Youth Tour, Camp Kilowatt and doing safety demonstrations for fourth graders. He loved his marching Braves and invested time into the Maconaquah Marching Band, working the concession stand and helping build props for their shows, as well as serving as the Booster President. Kim was an avid Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtic's fan. He enjoyed traveling and seeing different Major League Baseball Stadiums. He was a member of various organizations, including the Peru Lion's Club, Peru Rotary Club, Peru Moose Lodge and the Kokomo Bowling League.

Of all his interests, his family was his greatest love and number one priority. He attended many l bowling, baseball and softball games and tournaments, in addition to following the band around to their various competitions. He really loved following his grandchildren's activities.

Kim is survived by his wife, Chrystal Norman Burton, married for 44 years; daughter, Jennifer (Patrick) Evans; son, Matthew (Amy) Burton; daughter, Mary (Adam) Pherson; mother, Sue Burton; sister, Cheryl (Damon) Hale; brother-in-law Charles Norman and Carl (Debbie) Norman; grandchildren, Ashleigh Evans, Devin Evans, Madisyn Evans, Brooklyn Pherson, Alexander Pherson, Gabriel Evans, Kara Burton, Ivy Pherson and Levi Burton; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Burton; brother, Gregory Burton; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and granddaughter, Emma Burton; along with sister-in-law, Cheryl Schwuchow.

A visitation for Kim will be held Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo, IN 46902, as well as Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, from noon until time of the funeral service, 1 p.m. Kim will be entombed immediately after the funeral service at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902. Pastor Kent Kessler with the Hillsdale Community Church to officiate.
