Joe Arthur Lindsey, 93, of Kokomo, passed away 2:45 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023, at Wellbrooke of Westfield.
He was born in Summitville, Indiana, on April 15, 1930, the son of the late George and Bernice (Hinton) Lindsey. On Feb. 19, 1951, he married Loralyn Anway in Angola, Indiana. She preceded him in death on June 11, 2016.
Joe graduated from Alma College in 1958, with a Bachelor's of Science degree. He worked at Haynes Stellite, which later became Union Carbide Company, then Cabot Corporation, then Haynes International. After his retirement from Haynes International, he worked at St. Joseph Hospital as the plant operations manager. He then oversaw the construction of the north wing of the hospital. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with his morning group at Chippendale Golf Course.
Joe is survived by his children, Dr. James (Vicki) Lindsey, Kokomo, Indiana, Janet (Greg) McCauley, Westfield, Indiana, Mark (Priscilla) Lindsey, Salem, Oregon, Marilyn (Chuck) Hensley, Cicero, Indiana, Susan (Scott) Williams, Yorktown, Indiana; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Bourdon, Whitehall, Michigan; in-laws, Hart (Millie) Anway, Mark (Mary) Anway; numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loralyn; sister, Phyllis Mendham; brother-in-law, Charles Bourdon.
