Kokomo, IN. - Gary C. Langston, 88, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on October 25, 2025. He was born on March 13, 1937, in Cutler, Indiana, the son of the late Marion and Helen Langston. On May 27, 1967, he married Carol Parkhurst at the West Middleton United Methodist Church, who preceded him in death on October 10, 2023.
Gary graduated from Flora High School in 1955 and from Purdue University in 1959. He retired from Delco Electronics in Kokomo, Indiana, in 1994 after 34 years of service. Gary was active in Freemasonry for most of his life. He was a member of Burlington Lodge for over 50 years (now Mt. Zion Lodge No. 211), where he served as Grandmaster in 1998. Gary was also a member of the Scottish Rite (NMJ), Kokomo Shrine Club, and Murat Shriners for over 50 years. In addition, he was a Past Grand Master of the IBN Saud Grotto in Kokomo. His other memberships included the Sons of the American Legion, VFW Auxiliary (life member), Fraternal Order of Eagles, Moose Legion #588 of Bonita Springs Lodge, Moose Riders District 25, and the Sons of the American Revolution.
Gary loved any kind of sports and was an enthusiastic fan of Purdue Boilermaker basketball and football, as well as the Indianapolis Colts. Carol and Gary had a lake house on Lake Freeman from 1987 until 2016. They enjoyed hosting family and friends at the lake, as well as Friday night neighborhood potluck gatherings. They also spent the winters in Bonita Springs and Estero, Florida, where they enjoyed their neighbors and friends at Sunny Grove Park and the Bonita Springs Moose Lodge 1454. When in Kokomo, they enjoyed visiting with friends at the VFW Post 1152 at the Forty & Eight Club.
Gary is survived by his children; Bill Langston of Cutler, Laurie Brower of Flora, Cindy (Jay) Cummins of Bloomington, Illinois, Mindy Langston of Fishers, Dick (Julie) Langston of Cutler, and Tom (Angie) Hayes of Kokomo; his brother, Ed (Linda) Langston; grandchildren, Andrew (Elizabeth) Langston of Cutler, Abby (Ben) Constable of Cutler, Matt (Jennifer) Brower of Cutler, Marcia (Justin) Gyles of Missoula, Montana, Elizabeth (Christian) Beck of Bloomington, Illinois, Emily (Micah) Cutter of Hudson, Illinois, Natalie (Joseph) DiCicco of Winfield, Illinois, Ashley Hayes of Kokomo, and Jordan (David Booher) Hayes of Marion, Danielle Williams of Russiaville, Devin Hopwood of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Isaac Langston, Evan Langston, Kara (Chandler Peplinski) Acord, Alexzia Acord, Lillie Acord, Cameron (Delaney) Langston, Carson Burkle, Cain Burkle, Lennox Constable, Miah Brower, Caleb Hernandez, Caitlyn Martin, Colby Martin, Bailey Boyles, Braxton Boyles, Carter Beck, Olivia Beck, Louie DiCicco, Jude DiCicco, Sylvie DiCicco, Peter DiCicco, Paige Williams, and great-great grandchildren, MaKenna Martin and Sage Langston; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Carol; Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Helen Langston; and his sister, Linda Heinzelman.
A funeral celebrating Gary's life will take place at 6 pm Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville. Friends may visit with the family from 4 pm until the start of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Masonic Rites will commence at 6 pm, provided by the Camden Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge #211. A graveside service will take place at 10 am Friday, October 31, 2025, at Sunset Memory Gardens, 2097 W. Alto Rd, Kokomo, with Pastor Billy Martin officiating.
