Sept. 6, 1953 - Sept. 7, 2014. Ernest Edward Cassell, 61, Kokomo, passed away at 11:13 a.m. Sunday Sept. 7, 2014, at Seton Specialty Hospital, Lafayette. Born Sept. 6, 1953, in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Ernest Edward Cassell Jr. and Alice Jean (Gilbert) Cassell.. He was a 1971 graduate of Haworth High School. He was employed with Cuneo Press and also was a cook at Shenanigans Pub in Kokomo. He loved to cook and did so for the family during the holidays.. Survivors include his mother, Alice Jean Cassell, Kokomo; a daughter, Sarah Cassell, Boca Raton, Florida; two sisters, Debbie Novinger, Kokomo, and Beth Ann Garrett, Florida; nieces and nephews, Mariann, Chris, and Nicholas Garrett, also Greg, Brent, and Francis Novinger; and his companion of 21 years, Joan Stahl, Kokomo.. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Edward Cassell Jr.. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Grace Baptist Church, 2818 S. Park Road. Pastor Kerry Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.. Memorials may be directed to the American Liver Foundation or to the National Kidney Foundation. Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
