Mrs Debra Rae Statzell Obituary

Kokomo, IN - Debra Rae Statzell, 78, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born to Dempsey and Helen Holt on January 19, 1948, in Kokomo, IN. Debra married James Statzell and he proceeded her in death.

Debra and James enjoyed traveling around the world together. Especially enjoying their last major trip to Ireland. Debra was an avid reader and movie buff who thoroughly enjoyed the arts and theater. In her spare time, she was an excellent cook, enjoyed puzzles, games, card club, and cherished her church family at Judson Road Christian Church. Her love for her family, friends, and volunteering at St. Vincent Ascension Hospital was evident to all who have encountered her. She had an infectious laugh and smile that could brighten the cloudiest of days. Debra's heart was fullest when she was with her beloved James and boys Mat and Abe.

After her marriage to James, they moved to Coloma, MI, eventually retiring in Crossville, TN. After James passed Debra returned to Kokomo.
