Deborah Kay Bagley
Deborah K. (McCoy) Lewis Bagley, age 62, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at North Florida Regency Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. She was born on Jan. 25, 1957, in Marion to Phillis McCoy Hockett. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Charles E. Hockett.
As a child, Deborah attended First Pentecostal Church. She was a singer and musician, playing in the orchestra at age 7, along with playing piano for the youth choir. At the age of 15, Deborah produced a gospel album, selling over 1,000 copies locally. Deborah went on to attend Marion High School, Class of 1976. She attended college in St. Paul, Minnesota, and was a graduate of Tucker Area Career Center LPN School. She worked at Marion General Hospital for 12 years. In 1978, Deborah became a member of the Bethel Worship Center.
Deborah married Joel Lewis, Dec 28, 1979, and they were blessed with two beautiful children before divorcing in 1988. She later married James Bagley and moved to Lake City, Florida, to enjoy retirement.
Deborah is survived by her mother, Phillis Hockett; husband, James Bagley; children, Krista N. (Mitchell) Murphree, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Justin M. (Jaymie) Lewis, Lusby, Maryland; six grandchildren, Cannon, Fineas, Samarah, Jasper, Beatrice and Mercy; two stepchildren, Heather (Mike) lay, Kokomo Indiana, and Jamie Bagley; three stepgrandchildren, Conner, Katherine and Nathan; five stepsisters, two stepbrothers, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins, who love and miss her daily.
Deborah has been cremated. A memorial dinner for the family and friends will be Nov. 16, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Bethel Worship Center annex, 1715 E 38th St., Marion Indiana. Casual dress.
Donations may be made to Cancer Services of Grant County, 305 S. Norton St., Marion, Indiana, or a charity of the donor's choice.
