Charles Wayne Christie, 75, Kokomo, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018, with his family by his side. He was born Oct. 13, 1942, to Ralph and Mable Christie.

He was a graduate of Windfall High School, Class of 1960. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964 and retired from Delco Electronics in 2001.

Charlie loved spending time with family. He was an avid fisherman, loved to mushroom hunt and admire nature. He was an active attendant at the Kokomo Senior Center and loved to spend time in the pool room at the center, where he made great friends.

He is survived by three brothers, Richard Christie, Phoenix, Arizona, Paul and Mark Christie, both of Kokomo; four sisters, Claudia and Thomas Watley, of Tipton, Catherine Ford, of Tipton, Tonita Ziegelman, of Surprise, Arizona, and Robyn Marrow, of Prescott Valley, Arizona; four children, Farrah Gibson (Mike), of Yorktown, Kim Burton, of Kokomo, Bryan Bennett (Martha), of Midland, Texas, and Victor Bennett (Kristine), of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Those who have preceded Charlie in death are his parents, Ralph and Mable; brother, Ralph David Christie; and ex-wife, Maureen Christie.

A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Chapel. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 27. Burial with military honors will follow the service at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
