Brian was a 1983 graduate of Oak Hill High School and was employed as a machinist at Dana Corp. An avid outdoorsman, Brian thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Brian followed the Purdue Boilermakers, the Cincinnati Reds and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also followed local Oak Hill sports and, in recent years, Elwood volleyball, where his daughter is the coach.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Wendy, is a daughter, Lindsay Durm and husband Aaron, of Elwood; a son, Chris Cunningham and fiancée Heather Petro, of Sweetser; a granddaughter, Charleigh Cunningham; his parents, Clifton and Nancy Cunningham, of Converse; and sisters, Rhonda Hall and husband Jeff, of Converse, and Brenda Holcom and husband Kevin, of Converse.
A service celebrating the life of Brian Cunningham will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery, Amboy, Indiana. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago, Illinois.
