Betty J. Stahl, 66, of Kokomo, passed away at her residence Sunday, May 16, 2021.

She was born Dec. 26, 1954, in Kokomo, to Raymond and Bernice (Redmon) Abney. She married Joseph Stahl Jr. on May 13, 1989, in Kokomo, and he survives.

Betty was a 1973 graduate of Haworth High School. She worked at Delphi Electronics for 33 years and retired as a millwright.

She enjoyed watching her soaps, going to sprint car races, being out in the sun and at the beach and collecting and wearing jewelry. She loved her puppies, Jake, Molly, Gus, Roxie and Ivy. But most of all, she loved her family and gathering and spending time with them.

Along with her husband of 32 years, Betty is survived by children, Matthew Scott (Bessie) DeWitt, Justin (Pete) DeWitt, Shannon Heilman, Nathaniel Stahl, Mindy Whittaker, Brandi (Curt) Zehr, Danielle Stahl, Joe Stahl III and Lindley Abney; grandchildren, Sebastian (Bo) DeWitt, Nathan, Hannah and Kevan Heilman, Issiah Stahl, Braedon Wyrick, Braeilei Rostron, Brice and Ethan Peters, Hannah, Chauncey Landon, Brody and Maddison Stahl, Zane and Drake Whittaker and Marcelo Lane; siblings, Donna Abney, Beverly Jimenez, DeWayne Abney and Robert Abney; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and father-in-law, Joseph Stahl Sr.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kokomo Humane Society.
