Anthony 'Tony' Fowler
Mr. Anthony "Tony" Fowler, age 61, of Kokomo, transitioned March 20, 2020, at his residence in Kokomo, Indiana. Anthony was born on Sept. 11, 1958, in Columbia, South Carolina, to Mr. Arthur Fowler Jr. and Ramona E. Fowler.
He was a graduate of Haworth High School in 1976. He was a member of the Haworth Huskies football and track teams.
After high school, Mr. Fowler enlisted in the United States Army for 14 years. He served as a communication specialist in the Signal Corps Unit. After his military enlistment, he worked and retired from the United States Postal Services as a postal clerk. He recently graduated from Ivy Tech Community College and also Indiana University Kokomo, Indiana. Mr. Fowler was a member of Wayman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 6. He loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Anthony leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Ramona E. Fowler; sons, David Spencer, of Chandler, Arizona, Lamar A. Fowler Sr. (Kimberli S.) of Fort Worth, Texas, Kevin C. Fowler (Janay Kay), of Atlanta, Georgia, Mycah T. Fowler, of Kokomo, Indiana; daughters, Jana N. Spencer, of Radcliff, Kentucky, Tonya M. Fowler, of Augusta, Georgia; brother, Reginald A. Fowler (Kelly), of Kokomo, Indiana; sister, Valerie S. Johnson, of Kokomo, Indiana; niece, Leslie Kugleman (Charles), of Indianapolis; nephews, Marcus Johnson, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Maurice Triner-Fowler, of Germany, and David Fowler of Champaign, Illinois; ex-wife, Nancy Bachmann; 12 grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Fowler Jr.; grandfather, Arthur Fowler Sr.; and grandmother, Louise Cox.
Special note: Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we will implement advisory visitation and attendance processes to assist with protecting everyone in attendance who wishes to pay their respects for Mr. Anthony Fowler and his family. Please use back entrance of the church parking lot to access the building.
Mr. Fowler's service will be Saturday, March 28, at noon, with calling from 11 a.m. until time of services at Wayman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 920 Apperson Way N., Kokomo, IN 46901. Pastor William Gary is the eulogist and officiant. Mr. Fowler will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Watch services via Facebook Live Stream on Bluitt and Son Funeral Home.
