Stephen Kent Saltsman, 67, Kokomo, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, June 30, 2017, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was born March 14, 1950, in Kokomo, the son of the late Ray and Louise (Riddell) Saltsman. On Aug. 11, 1979, he married Betty Sue O'Neal, who survives.
Stephen retired from Chrysler Corporation after 30 years of service. He enjoyed working on cars and traveling. Stephen was an avid bird watcher, and took care of them. He also loved the outdoors, camping and nature, but most of all, he cherished taking care of his family.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Betty Saltsman; children, Shawn Chance, Angela Tomlinson, Tamala (Steven) Willis and Echo (John) Saltsman-Edison; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Carol Dice, Mike Saltsman, John Saltsman, Bill Saltsman, Jim Saltsman and several nieces and nephews.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Bobbie Sue Saltsman; and brothers, Richard Dean Saltsman and Robert Lee Saltsman.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Rick Duffer officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
