Sondra K. Blackburn, 78, Kokomo, passed away early Wednesday morning, Aug. 16, 2017, at Golden Living Sycamore Village in Kokomo. She was born Aug. 23, 1938, to Clarence T. and Evelyn M. Quillen.
Sondra worked for Switches in Logansport for several years. She enjoyed crochet, sewing, crafts and especially John Wayne.
Surviving family include her children, Jeff Vore and Janice E. Werner, both of Kokomo; grandchildren, Nichole Spencer, Logansport, Dusty (Bonna) Vore, Kokomo, Corey Vore, Kokomo, Dawn Maxson, Kokomo, Faith Vore, Kokomo, Jeremy Vore, Logansport, Devon Vore, Logansport, Ariel Werner, Kokomo, Hannah Werner, Kokomo, and Rebekah Werner, Kokomo; great-grandchildren, Bryce Spencer, Preston Spencer, Emma Vore, Katlyn Vore and Tori Vore; one sister, Shirley Coppernol, Peru; a special niece who was very close to her, Karen Clark, Albany; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Steve Vore and Robert "Scott" Vore; great-grandson, Michael Vore; and two brothers, Jerry and Bobby Quillen.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston, with the Rev. Don McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in Ever Rest Memorial Park Cemetery in Logansport. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston has been entrusted with arrangements.
