Sharon Sue (Shafer) Packard, 74, Kokomo, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, at her home. She was born Dec. 30, 1942, in Camden, the daughter of Meredeth "Bud" and Betty (Beall) Shafer.
Sharon was a 1960 graduate of Camden High School. She retired from Delco Electronics after 36 years of service. After retirement, Sharon worked for JoAnn Fabrics. Sharon was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer and served as a Sunday school teacher in the past. She enjoyed church, quilting, bowling, and had been a Girl Scout volunteer.
Sharon is survived by her children, Jodi Packard, Kokomo, and Ryan Packard, Indianapolis; grandchildren, Zach Packard, Savannah Packard, Everett Packard, Riley Packard, Paisley Moore, and Wyatt Moore; siblings, Rusty (Marsha) Shafer, Wolcott, Sandy (Steve) Prendergast, Camden, and Kevin (Pam) Shafer, Flora; best friend, Vicky (Jon) Blackman, Kokomo.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Merrill "Buddy" Shafer.
Funeral services for Sharon will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 705 Southway Blvd. E., with Pastors William Allison and Barry Akers officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Camden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road.
