Robert Gerard Esposito died Friday, March 24, 2017, at his home in Kokomo. He was 60 years old. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he lived and traveled across the country and eventually retired and settled in Kokomo in 2008.
Prior to retiring, he was a sales engineer for Associated Press in New York City, where he worked for many years. A proud 100 percent disabled Navy veteran, Bob served his country in Catania, Italy, working in aviation electronics. Bob enjoyed museums, loud music, cooking with his kids and traveling.
Surviving are his mother, Pompelia Esposito; children, Valerie Esposito (fiance, Tyson Stole) and Andrew Esposito (fiancee, Kaitlin Spenceley); ex-wife and best friend, Laura Johnson and husband, Glen Johnson; and nieces and nephews, Dennis Driscoll, Amber and Julian Jester, Chase Johnson (fiance, Maggie Goff) and Bailey Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Esposito, and his surrogate parents, Angelo and Anna Girardi.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oak Ridge Road, Carmel, with the Rev. Father Alejandro Paternoster the celebrant. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy immediately following the Mass.
