Phyllis D. Pogson, 79, Kokomo, passed away at 3:05 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. She was born Oct. 21, 1937, in Carroll County, the daughter of Ralph Dyke and Theo (Trapp) Dyke. She attended Carrollton High School. On Feb. 14, 1957, in Logansport, she married Russell Dance. She later married Jack Pogson in the summer 1987, he preceded her in death Feb.18, 2012. She was a self-employed beautician for more than 20 years and owned and operated six shops in Kokomo. Phyllis loved being in the sun and tanning. She also enjoyed shopping and cooking.
Survivors include a daughter, Kelly Tanner, Kokomo; daughter, Lisa Morrow and husband Mike, Kokomo; son, David Dance and wife Kayci of Peru; brother, Willard "Bill" Dyke and wife Susie of Camden; stepdaughter, Carole Hohne and husband Steve, Massachusetts; stepson, Bill Pogson and wife Sandy, Chicago; grandchildren, Tia Gaylor and husband Todd, Kokomo, Megan Morrow, Kokomo, David Tanner and wife Tonya, Kokomo, Michael Morrow, Kokomo, and Anthony Dance, Peru; also many great grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Fannie Bodell.
Phyllis's wishes were to be cremated, and a family gathering to celebrate her life will take place on a later date.
