Peggy Lou Miller, 89, Burlington, passed away at 7:03 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the home of her daughter. She was born July 7, 1927, in Carroll County, to Joseph and Mildred (Price) Barnard. On April 12, 1952, she married Jimmie Lee Miller, and he preceded her in death Jan. 18, 2012.
Peggy graduated from Carrollton High School in 1945. She had worked at Country Furniture Factory and Essex Wire, both in Flora, and attended Oakland Christian Church in Russiaville. She was a big John Wayne fan and enjoyed collecting clowns. She also enjoyed going to Burlington to have coffee with friends, doing jigsaw and word search puzzles and bird watching.
She is survived by her children, Rick (Cindy) Miller, Kokomo, and Janice (Kevin) Harness, Frankfort; grandchildren, Taunya Miller, Jimmy Miller and Ricky Miller Jr., all of Kokomo, and Marisa Libka, Zack Harness, Kent Harness and Karen Harness, all of Frankfort; nine great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Bob Scott and Donald (Bo) Miller; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Wilson, Shirley Graham and Mary Beckner; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Joe Barnard Jr., Jack Barnard and Betty Jo Scott.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Neptune Chapel, 44 Michigan St., Burlington, with Pastor Dennis Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
