Pam Ditmer, 68, Kokomo, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Born Jan. 24, 1949, in Hamilton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Hazel (Getz) Wilson.
Pam graduated from Hamilton Taft High School, class of 1967. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Miami University, and then moved to Englewood, Ohio, to pursue a position in teaching. While living in Englewood, Pam met the love of her life, Larry Ditmer, and they we married on Feb. 24, 1973, at St. John's Church of Christ in Hamilton, Ohio.
Pam was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Fa Ho Cha Sunday School class, the choir, the handbell choir, and numerous Bible studies. After a brief career as a fifth grade teacher, she devoted her life to raising her four children. She enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Pam is survived by her children, Matthew (Dolly) Ditmer, Joshua (Danyelle) Ditmer, Elizabeth (John) Huffman and Jon Ditmer; grandchildren, Anna Huffman, Noah Ditmer, Sara Huffman, Caleb Ditmer, Micah Ditmer and Madelyn Ditmer; a sister, Marilyn Wilson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Pam was preceded in death by a grandson, Isaac Ditmer.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 8, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, with a funeral service immediately following. Pam will be laid to rest in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery in Kokomo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be left to the United Methodist Women of St. Luke's UMC.
