Nancy Jakubovie, 86, Whiting, Indiana, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Waterford Place. Nancy was born April 23, 1930, to Arthur and Miriam Blood (White) in Chicago, Illinois.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Teresa) Jakubovie, Indianapolis, and daughter, Jan Drac, Kokomo; sister, Judy Cameron, Naperville, Illinois; nieces, Darsha (Robert) Fletcher, Tracy (David) Fernandes, Beth (Tim) Corrigan; nephews, John Primich and Jock (Rita) Cameron.
Nancy graduated from George Rogers Clark High School in 1948 and attended Purdue University. She was a secretary at University of Chicago Medical Center.
Nancy loved music and was in many choirs throughout her lifetime. She also played the bassoon in high school and an adult band. She was a Cub Scout leader and a leader of the Camp Fire Girls. Nancy loved to sew and quilt. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Valparaiso.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Daniel Jakubovie; her nephew, Gary Primich; and her sister, Miriam (Paul) Rowley.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. April 22 at Northminster Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis, with visitation one hour prior.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
