Nancy E. Davidson, 88, Fishers, passed away on Sunday, June 11, in Indianapolis. She was born April 20, 1929, in Kokomo, to Horace B. Upham and Mary 'Tootie' McCarty, and was their second child. Her older sister, Barbara (Arbuckle), was also born in Kokomo, and died in 2000.
After Nancy's mother remarried, Nancy lived with her step-father, Ralph Guenther, in La Porte, where she graduated high school in the class of 1947.
Nancy was married to Dr. Ernest W. Davidson for 48 years, until his death in 2006. They lived for many years in Bedford, where she served on the staff of the public library for 32 years.
Nancy and Barbara were the granddaughters of Frank McCarty and Anna Ruddell. Frank was a long-time bank executive in Kokomo. He was the son of William McCarty and Winifred Maher. The McCartys also had two other daughters, Louise (Conradt) and Betty (Purvis).
Nancy is survived by her sons, Mark, Los Angeles, and Scott, Fishers; two daughters in-law; three grandchildren; and a first cousin, Suzie Crawford, Kokomo.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Bedford Public Library in her honor. Arrangements have been handled by Flanner and Buchanan - Broad Ripple.
