Monte Robert Fields, 53, went home to his Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2017.
He answered his country's call and served in the Army as an infantry soldier. Monte served in Kosovo and Bosnia during its most troubling times. He was a well-decorated combat veteran, earning the Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon and several other honors. He was both an M-16 rifle expert and a sharpshooter with the .45 caliber pistol.
Monte is survived by three sisters, Marcy Williams, Marta McClurg and Samanth Ross. He was the father of three sons, Joshua, Zackary and Wesley.
He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Brett, and parents, mother Carol Copeland and father Robert Fields.
Monte was a loving, kind, considerate person who will be sadly missed his many friends and family.
Monte lived at Jackson Street Commons, where he will be greatly missed.
A private celebration of life was at Jackson Street Commons, with Chaplain Dennis Chapman officiating.
