Melesha Lee (Stringer) Harris, 43, Kokomo, passed away at 11:23 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at her home. She was born March 4, 1974, in Kokomo, the daughter of Phillip and Linda (Kirby) Stringer. She married Brian Harris, and he survives.
Melesha was a 1992 graduate of Northwestern High School. She then went on to earn her LPN degree from Ivy Tech. Melesha had worked for Advantage Home Health Care for eight years and had also been employed with North Woods Village and Sycamore Village Health Care. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and had served in a couple of the ladies groups. Melesha enjoyed scrapbooking and was involved in her son's sports.
Melesha is survived by her husband, Brian Harris, Kokomo; children, Patrick R. Harris, Caleb R. Harris, Lewis R. Harris, Shelby A. (Sean) Miller, and stepson, Joshua (Juliana) Reams; mother, Linda Stringer; sisters, Synthia Bolinger, and Kim Sheely; brother, Phillip Stringer; stepgrandson, Brayden Reams; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Debbie Harris; sister-in-law, Susan (Eric) Eads; and several nieces and nephews.
Melesha was preceded in death by her father, Phillip Stringer.
Funeral services for Melesha will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 700 Southway Blvd. E., with Pastor Mitch Norwood officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
