Mazie B.'s Story
Mazie B. Snow Prifogle, 94, Kokomo, passed peacefully at 3:05 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, in Reflections Wellington Assisted Living. Mazie was born Feb. 18, 1923, in Mascot, Tennessee, to Lewis M. and Cora B. Arnett (Jones). Mazie married her first husband, James H. Snow, on Jan. 29, 1940, in Tipton, and he preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1979. On March 15, 1980, Mazie married Clifford Prifogle Jr., and he preceded her in death Oct. 20, 1989.
Mazie retired from Cabot Corp. in 1981 after 30 years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and former member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was also a member of Quarter Century Club. Her hobbies included needlepoint, cross-stitching, ceramics and many other crafts.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James; second husband, Clifford; brothers, Dave and Ernest Arnett; sisters, Gladys (Stroup) and Mary Ruth (McCain); foster daughter, Rebecca (Darold) Fortune; and stepgranddaughter, Lora Stone.
Mazie is survived by her son, James M. (Judy) Snow, Bonita Springs, Florida; daughter, Cheri E. (Joe) McKamey, Naples, Florida; stepson, Kenneth (Patricia) Prifogle; stepdaughter, Judy (Robert) Camden, both of Kokomo; grandchildren, Dr. Julie C. (Richard) Snow-Herrick, Evanston, Illinois, Dr. Jennifer L. Snow, Boise, Idaho, Jamie (John Paul) Aliveto, Fairplay, Maryland, Curtis (Mariana) Skomp, Key West, Florida, Chris (Rhonda) Skomp, Noblesville, Brett (Judy) McKamey, Zionsville, Beth Fortune, Nashville, Tennessee, Lisa (Todd) Binns, Nashville, Tennessee; stepgranddaughters, Sara (John) Vazquez, Carey (Patrick) Kemper, Alisha (Lyle) Meyers, and Dusty Wade'; and she was very proud that she had 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carrie Thomas, Julie McCauley, and Chaplain Larry Phillips, all of Guardian Angel Hospice, and the following staff at Reflections, Dixie Eakin, Julie Meadows, Robin Kirby, and Jamie Buckalew for all the compassionate care of Mazie over the years.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at Christ Lutheran Church, with Pastor Sharon Walker officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
