Mary Lou's Story

Mary Lou Kinney, 81, Kokomo, passed away 5:35 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at Waterford Health Campus in Kokomo. She was born Aug. 15, 1936, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Lewis H. and Hazel (Ancil) Ware. On Nov. 13, 1954, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, she married Robert L. Kinney who preceded her in death in 2005.
Mary Lou was a 1954 graduate of Northwestern High School. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for the family farm. Mary Lou was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, and the Daughters of Isabella. She was also active in the Clay 49ers Extension Club.
Mary Lou is survived by her children, Robert Kinney (Lawren Coulam), Niles, Michigan, David (Jill) Kinney, Kokomo, Theresa (Dan) Vent, Kokomo, William Kinney, Florissant, Missouri, Christopher (Renee) Kinney, Kokomo, and Anthony (Elizabeth) Kinney, Logansport; grandchildren, Jared (Jenifer) Kinney, Rachael (James) Cunningham, Ryan Kinney, Adam (Hannah) Kinney, Josh Kinney, Jacob Vent and Eric Kinney; great-grandchildren, Jackson Kinney, Charlotte Cunningham, Claire Cunningham and Colton Cunningham; sister, Ann (Bob) Young; and sister-in-law, Susie Ware.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; and her brother, Ted Ware.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington St., with the Rev. Father Brian Dudzinski the celebrant. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, where the Rosary will be offered at 7:30 p.m. One hour of visitation also will be offered prior to service on Saturday at the church.
