Marshall Wisehart, 69, Kokomo, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, in the ER at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo. He was born Aug. 29, 1947, in Marion County, to Carl L. and Madelene (Young) Wisehart. On June 20, 1969, he married Faye E. Christian, in Kokomo, and she survives.
Marshall graduated from Western High School in 1966 and from the Indiana State Police Academy. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 in Germany during the Vietnam War in the 24th Division NATO Air Mobile Forces. He retired from Continental Steel and worked for the Howard County Sheriff's Department for six years. He enjoyed racing and cherished spending time with family. He was a member of the Air Commando Association, DAV, Howard County Vietnam Veterans Organization, Indiana Patriot Guard, Russiaville Masonic Lodge F&AM 82 and the American Legion.
In addition to his wife, Faye Wisehart, he is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Jim) Proffit, Noblesville; grandchildren, Clay Kitts, Christopher Proffit, Sonja (John) Parker and Jimmy Proffit Jr.; great-granddaughter, Cali Proffit; twin brother, Michael (Judie) Wisehart; sister, Jannay (Tom) Smith; uncles, George Wisehart, Jerry Young and Dave Young; aunts, Marie Martin and Joy Hickey; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor John Zwirn officiating. Burial will follow in Marion National Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7:30. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Patriot Guard.
