Marquitta Joy Mealer, 68, Kokomo, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017, at Community Howard Regional Health. She was born Dec. 4, 1948, in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late John King and Norma (Bender) King. On Sept. 21, 1968, she married William A. Mealer. He preceded her in death Dec. 22, 2011.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed cross-stitch, watching television, dancing and taking line dancing lessons, and going to family gatherings.
Survivors include three daughters, Parrisha Miller and significant other, John Litzelman, Lebanon, Melissa (Stephen) Lynch, Bunker Hill, Aysha (Jason) Guffey, Kokomo; one sister, Denise (Randy) Bough, Kokomo; six grandchildren, William, Taylor, Nick, Jake, Brooke, and Josh; six great-grandchildren, Grace, Landon, Braelynn, Jacob, Lincoln, and Thea.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one nephew, Brian; and five infant children.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at Stars of Light Chapel, 809 S. Elizabeth St., Kokomo. Pastor Barbara Tranbarger will officiate. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the church.
