Marilyn (Mitchell) Hunt, 83, Kokomo, passed away at 9 a.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017, at her home. She was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Clinton County, to Bernard V. and Mary Ellen (Lindley) Mitchell. On Feb. 25, 1955, she married Jerry L. Hunt, and he preceded her in death March 8, 2017.
Marilyn graduated from Forest High School and worked for Jack Maher. She was an avid fan of the Cubs and the Colts, and she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of South Side Christian Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Jones and Lee Ann Turner; grandchildren, Angie Vazquez, Jessi (Seth) Stafford, Cory (Amanda) Jones, Josh Jones and Sara Turner; seven great-grandchildren, Trenton, Tyler, Zane, Ruby, Ryann, Reese and Carston; one great-great-grandchild, Brantlee; sister, Betty Zirkle; and brother, J. Lindley Mitchell.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Allen Hunt; and brother, Jack Mitchell.
The family wishes to give special thanks to hospice nurse Julie Maggart for her wonderful care.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Becky Sundquist officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, near Forest. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
