Margery E. Parrott, 73, Kokomo, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. She was born Feb. 4, 1944, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Harlan James and Margaret (Jared) Hays. On Jan. 25, 1963, in Kokomo, she married Walter Parrott, who preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2001.
Margery was a 1962 graduate of Kokomo High School and had attended Indiana University. She retired from Indiana American Water Co. after 20 years of service. Margery was a member of First Christian Church, Tri Kappa, and Wildcat Creek Golf Course. She enjoyed playing euchre, and attending her grandchildren's events. Margery also enjoyed traveling, Florida, and the beaches in the winter.
Margery is survived by her sons, James R. Parrott and Steve A. (Amanda) Parrott; grandchildren, Lexie Parrott, Leah Parrott, Kiah Parrott, and Karson Parrott; and her companion, Larry Ellison, who treated her like gold.
Margery was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Rachel Lynn Parrott, and brother, Roger Hays.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at First Christian Church, 854 N. 300 West, Kokomo, with Pastor Will Jewsbury officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road.
