Luann Kay Wyant, 53, Kempton, passed away at 2:29 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at Indiana University Health Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born March 16, 1964, in Hartford City, to William Harold Abbott Jr. and Linda Lou (Merchant) Abbott. On July 23, 1989, at First Baptist Church in Tipton, she married Scott Allen Wyant, and he survives.
She graduated from Eastern High School in 1983 and attended Ivy Tech for a couple of years. She had worked for Kmart for 10 years, also Wal-Mart for 19 years.
She was a member of Crossroads Community Church. She loved nature and being outdoors, including fishing, camping and spending time at the family's lake place in Monticello. She also loved collecting things related to Native Americans and penguins. Luann was proud to be a kidney transplant recipient.
She is survived by her mother, Greentown; daughter, Cara M. Wyant and fiance Matt Neumann, both of Greentown; daughter, Sara L. Wyant and fiance McCauley Stevens, both of Kokomo; three grandchildren, Bentley, Ava, and Landon; brother, Bill Abbott III and wife Shelly, Albany; sister, Dianna Wilmoth and husband Jerry, Daleville; brother-in-law, Marvin Wyant, Tipton County; sister-in-law, Toni Colburn, Kokomo; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin and Sharron Wyant, Kempton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents; and an aunt.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, with Pastor Dave Welsh officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery, Tipton County. There will be a dinner at Crossroads Community Church immediately following the burial. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
