Lou Ann Cummings, 75, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017. Born Sept. 17, 1941, in Mount Vernon, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Telmon and Versie (Clemons) Nix. After receiving her formal education from the White County Public School District, she met and married the love of her life, Earvin Roger Cummings, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ and a dedicated servant of the Lord. Her love for the Lord led her to serve the community in many capacities, specifically working in nursing homes, jails, youth ministries and the sick and shut in. She was a very giving person, giving collectively and personally to many causes in the community.
Lou Ann worked for Chrysler Corp., where she retired after 31 years of service. She loved her family and encouraged each and every one of them to follow the teachings of Christ.
She leaves behind to carry out her Christian legacy sons, Curtis B. Cummings, Fredricksburg, Virginia, Darnell E. (Wakako Toyokaka) Cummings, Misawa, Japan, and Tony A. Cummings, Kokomo; daughter, Brenda L. McGhee (Essie), Kentwood, Michigan; brothers, Earl Ray (Ina Gean) Nix, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Woodrow (Billie Jean) Nix, BeBe, Arkansas; sister, Alicesteen (Orelious) Peevy, Diamond Bar, California; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Refreshing Springs C.O.G.I.C. with calling from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
