Lester D. Wilson, 76, Kokomo, passed away at 4:55 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at Northwoods Village Health Care, Kokomo. He was born Oct. 19, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Paul Lee and Clara (Lamb) Wilson.
Lester was a loyal friend and will be missed dearly. He had worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Baldwin in San Bernadino, California, Henderson Trucking in Kokomo, and Goshen Coach in Elkhart. He loved to fish, and was an avid NASCAR fan of both Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr.
Lester is survived by his sister, Nancy (Jimmie) Meiring; aunt, Margaret Esther Lamb; special cousin, David (Jake) Lamb; nieces and nephews, Vanessa Johnson, Sonja (Ken) Tedlock, April (Thomas) Madding, Tammy (Tom) Grimes, Todd (Daniella) Meiring and Anthony Meiring; great-nieces and great-nephews, Ty Johnson, Nick Baker and Clarissa Baker, Alisha Johnson, Kourtney Tedlock, Chase Tedlock, Faith (J.D.) Mullins, Taylor Young and Shawn Young, J.D. Howard, Cheyenne Meiring, Mason Meiring and Trenton Meiring; great-great-niece, Braelynne Bell; and special friends, Les and Bridgette Felton.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Roger Alan Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Paul Sutherland and the Rev. James Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
