Leonard Jackson "Jack" Frazier, 93, Kokomo, passed away at 2:10 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017, with his son and daughter by his side. He was born May 17, 1923, in Lawrence County, Tennessee, the son of the late Samuel Lewis and Rachel Delitha (Brown) Frazier. On Feb. 28, 1947, in Kokomo, he married Norma Jean Rose, who preceded him in death Feb. 8, 2005.
Jack was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II in the Sea Bees. He was employed at Continental Steel for 36 years, retiring in 1977. Jack was owner and operator of Bay Point Apartments in Englewood, Florida. He loved gardening, fishing, was a good handyman, and had a great sense of humor.
Jack is survived by his son, Michael (Shirley) Frazier, Westfield; a daughter, Jody (Stan) Ortman, Howard County; grandchildren, Julie, Stacey, Mitch, and Amy; great-grandchildren, Austin, Caleb, and Karley; siblings, Paul L. (Shirley Jean) Frazier, Kokomo, Don Stanley (Marcia) Frazier, Kokomo, and Addie Houser, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Delores Frazier, Sacramento, California; and brother-in-law, Dorsey Rose, Bainbridge, Georgia.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma Jean Frazier; brothers, Delmar, Arthur, Roy, Hanley, Frank, and Charlie Frazier; sisters, Grace Peck, Wanda Shults and Gladys Hughes.
A memorial service for Jack will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
