Lea Starr Byers, 19, Greentown, along with the love of her life, Ethan Richman, 18, Kokomo, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, after attending the memorial service of her beloved niece, Princess Jade. She was born Aug. 6, 1997, to Frank Havran and Yong Park and was adopted by Larry and Linda Byers into her forever earthly home on May 23, 2002.
Lea was a member of the Greentown United Methodist Church and a 2016 graduate of Eastern High School. She was attending Indiana University at Kokomo pursuing her dream of becoming a neonatal nurse practitioner.
Along with her parents, Lea is survived by sisters, Anna (Matt) Landseadal, Cecelia, Maya, Daisy, Lexi, Addie and Gracie Byers; brothers, Brad (Amanda) Byers, Damon Byers (fiancee, Brooke Brooks), Papee Byers, Darrell Byers and Anthony Benedetti; grandparents, Bobby and Patricia Fulford and Carson Hughes; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and one great-niece.
Lea was preceded in death by her birth mother; loving grandmothers, Mearl Fulford, and Dorothy (Byers) Hughes; and grandfather, Myerl Byers.
A celebration of Lea's life will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Eastern Howard Performing Arts Center, 421 S. Harrison St., Greentown. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the performing arts center.
