Julia Ann "Judy" Reith, 79, Kokomo, passed away at 10:59 p.m. Saturday April 15, 2017, at Community Howard Regional Health. Born Aug. 2, 1937, in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Ross Henry Tharp and Margaret (Atkinson) Tharp.
She was a 1955 graduate of Kokomo High School. On Aug. 16, 1958, in Kokomo, she married Robert Joseph Reith. He preceded her in death July 12, 1996. She was a secretary most of her life, having worked for Sunset Memory Gardens and Kokomo Schools. She was an avid reader and loved to work crossword puzzles, sew, and bowl.
Survivors include three daughters, Rhonda (Paul) Brantley, Sevierville, Tennessee, Marcy Ann (Cary) Brown, Kokomo, and Amy (David) Brilliandt, Middlebury; one brother, Charles (Barb) Tharp, Kokomo; one sister, Candace (Lowell) Pemberton, Kokomo. There are also grandchildren, Kevin (Amber) Smith, Tyler (Amanda) Brantley, Krystine (Travis) Boling, Derik (Nicole Lam) Bishop, Blake Brown, Alexis Brown, Sky Brilliandt, Marc Brilliandt, and Alex Brilliandt. There is also one great-grandchild, Charley Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo. Pastor Adam Novinger will officiate. Burial will follow at Albright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
