Juanita (Khan) Niño, 78, Bunker Hill, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother and friend. She was born Feb. 11, 1939, in San Benito, Texas, to Mohamed and Salome Olivarez. On May 10, 1959, she married Pablo R. Niño, who preceded her in death. They had been residents of Bunker Hill since 1964.
Juanita is survived by her sons, Pablo Jr. and wife Jill, Rochester; Luis and wife Christie, Bunker Hill; and Michael "Andy" and wife Geneva, Greenwood. She also is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Xaiden, Jennifer, Luis II, Francisco, Michael, Jocelyn, Matthew, Bryce, Hunter and Jaxton; and brothers, Jesus "Juan" Chan and Jose Gonzalez.
Preceding her in death were her daughters, Elizabeth and Diana; and son, John Gilbert.
Friends can call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at St. Charles Catholic Church, Peru, with a Mass service at 7:30 p.m. At 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, there will be a service at St. Charles Church, Peru, with burial at Springdale Cemetery in Bunker Hill after the church service.
