Joshua Lee Cockrell, 36, Kokomo, went to Heaven on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, in Kokomo. He was born May 15, 1980, in Kokomo, to James and Connie (Lloyd) Cockrell.
Joshua worked in home improvement and was good at what he did. He enjoyed the outdoors, racing, watching all the Indiana teams play, especially Kokomo High School basketball.
Joshua is survived by his father, James Cockrell; mother, Connie Bitzell; daughter, Kirsten Doriot; sister, Ashley Cockrell; brothers, Jason (Amanda) Harris, Jake (Laura) Lake; grandfathers, Arnold Cockrell and Bob Long; many nieces and nephews and cousins; special nieces, Addy and Bean; uncles, Kenny (Rhonda) Cockrell, who he was very close to, and Rick Morris (financee Patty); aunts, Kim Morris and Missy Abresch; and special cousins, Deana (Shon) Durham and Jeanie (Steve) Bowen.
All of Joshua's family meant the world to him and he would do anything for anyone. He truly had a big heart and will be forever missed by anyone who knew him.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Francis Berger and Dixie Long; and uncle, Allen Cockrell.
Funeral services for Joshua will be 5 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Jefferson Street Chapel, 414 W. Jefferson St., with Pastor Paul Sutherland and Kenny Cockrell officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
