Dorothy Joan Rosselot, 86, Kokomo, passed away at 12:07 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at North Woods Village in Kokomo. She was born Dec. 4, 1930, in Kokomo, to Glen and Fern (Smith) Merrell. On Aug. 13, 1950, she married Clarence H. Rosselot, Jr., in Kokomo, and he preceded her in death on March 7, 1985.
Joan graduated from Kokomo High School in 1949 and attended Indiana University Kokomo. She worked for Haynes International for 34 years, retiring in 1986. After her retirement, she worked at Bath & Body Works and Kingsway Sports. She enjoyed spending time with her special friends, Joe, Margaret and Mark Westrom, and staying in touch with her friend of 40 years, Lee Iacoca. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the KHS Class of '49 Reunion Committee. She was very active in her church, Grace Community Foursquare Gospel Church, and had served in the mission field in the Philippines, Taiwan, China, Russia, Latvia, Estonia and Kenya.
She is survived by her son, David Rosselot; daughter-in-law, Tiffany D. (Gildow) Rosselot; granddaughter, Tiffany R. Rosselot; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jeramiah Rosselot; and sister, Barbara Jean (Merrell) Newlon.
The funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Doug Eldridge officiating. Burial will take place in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
