Jerry L. Hunt, 82, Kokomo, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at his home. He was born Jan. 6, 1935, in Kokomo, to Floyd "Shorty" and Leona (Wilson) Hunt. On Feb. 25, 1955, he married Marilyn Mitchell, and she survives.
Jerry graduated from Kokomo High School in 1953. He worked for PPG for 20 years, United Way, the Congress of Industrial Organizations, as a labor negotiator for AFL-CIO, and also for the Center Township Trustee.
In addition to his wife, Marilyn Hunt, he is survived by his daughters, Susan Jones and Lee Ann Turner; grandchildren, Angie Vazquez, Jessi (Seth) Stafford, Cory (Amanda) Jones, Josh Jones and Sara (Ian) Galloway; seven great-grandchildren, Trenton, Tyler, Zane, Ruby, Ryann, Reese and Carston; and one great-great-grandchild, Brantlee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Allen Hunt; and brother, Jack Hunt.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Becky Sundquist officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery near Forest. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
