Jeannette Lavelle Lawman, 85, Kokomo, passed away at 11 p.m. Monday June 26, 2017, at St. Vincent, Kokomo. Born Oct. 12, 1931 in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Walter Farrington and Cora (Carter) Farrington. On Jan. 25, 1952 in Kokomo, she married Marion Willie J. Lawman. He preceded her in death Nov. 9, 2013. She was employed with Delco Electronics, retiring after 32 years of service. She was a member of U.A.W. Local #292, New Beginnings Church. She loved sewing, cooking, gambling and taking care of family.
Survivors include 29 nieces and nephews, including Michael E. Lawman, Kokomo; 55 great-nieces and -nephews; and sisters-in-law, Judy Farrington, Wilma Lawman, Helen (Owen) Owsley, Dena McKee and Ava (Gene) Lawman, all of Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Scott, James, Max, Chuck and Dan Farrington; and five sisters, Jo, Mildred, Bernice, Carrie and Clotelle.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday July 1, 2017, at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster St. Pastor Jeff Russell will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
